FAQs
US Shipping Changes
Why are my US shipping costs higher now?
Effective August 29, 2025, the US government eliminated the de minimis exemption that previously allowed packages under $800 to enter duty-free. All international shipments to the US now face customs duties and tariffs. We've upgraded to DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) shipping, which means we pay these duties on your behalf and include them in the shipping cost.
Will I have to pay any additional fees when my package arrives?
No. With our DDP shipping service, you'll never be charged additional fees at delivery. We pay all customs duties and tariffs upfront, so the price you see at checkout is the total price you pay.
What is DDP shipping?
DDP stands for "Delivered Duty Paid." This means we handle all customs clearance and pay any duties or taxes on your behalf. Your package arrives at your door with no additional charges, delays, or paperwork required from you.
How much more will shipping cost?
The increase varies depending on your order's contents, as different products have different duty rates. US government tariff rates can range from 10% to over 100% depending on the product category. We include these costs in our shipping rates to provide transparent, all-inclusive pricing.
When did this change take effect?
This change became effective on August 29, 2025, following new US trade policies implemented through executive orders.
Does this affect all countries shipping to the US?
Yes, the elimination of the de minimis exemption applies to all countries shipping to the United States. Previously, China and Hong Kong were affected starting May 2, 2025, but as of August 29, 2025, it applies globally.
Why can't you just absorb these costs?
These are government-imposed tariffs that can range from 10% to over 100% of a product's value. The scale of these costs makes it impossible for us to absorb them while maintaining sustainable business operations. By using DDP shipping, we're providing the most transparent and convenient service possible under the new regulations.
Can I choose a cheaper shipping option without DDP?
We only offer DDP shipping to the US to ensure you receive your order without complications. Non-DDP shipments would result in:
- Packages held at customs until you pay duties
- Potential delivery failures if duties aren't paid
- Unexpected charges that could exceed our DDP rates
- Significant delivery delays
Is this change permanent?
This is a US government policy change that we have no control over. The regulations remain in effect until the US government decides to modify them. We'll continue monitoring the situation and will update our policies if anything changes.
What if my package gets stuck in customs?
With our DDP service, this shouldn't happen. We handle all customs clearance and payments before your package ships, which eliminates customs holds and delays.
Do other countries have similar changes coming?
Currently, this change is specific to US customs regulations. We'll notify customers if similar changes occur in other countries
